This is my 22-year-old niece, Kelsey, riding Black on Thanksgiving. She is with the Nebraska Army National Guard, all 105 pounds of her. We just found out this week that her unit will be called to go to Iraq this coming spring. Quoting Forrest Gump:
"That's all I have to say about that."
Sorry to hear about your neice having to go to Iraq. You know, I don't know much about the military, I didn't know the ANG could be called up!
ReplyDeleteHow does she feel about it? I love her named, by the way! I've always loved the named Kelsey! ;)
Wow, my daughter is in the
ReplyDeleteAir Force and in Texas on an Army base, her unit goes to Iraq in April. I will realy worry while she is gone, she realy does want to go. It will be a long six months. She is a weather forcaster so wont be out on patrols, small consulation. Thats not all she plans on getting married in January, before she ships off, and I am trying to figure out how to drive to Colorado in January, I hope its a mild winter.
Hope your neice stays safe over there.
Its funny, like Reddun said, I think those being deployed want to go. Quite a few of the reserved units in our state have been deployed. I think some from her unit have already went. Its scary.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the wedding, Reddun. Yeah, traveling to Colorado in January won't be fun! I'm still hoping for that mild winter.
Thanks for stopping in.
