I just started trail riding last summer (after a very long span of time away from riding), so I can't give you any first hand experience and I've just been out on a couple very simple, short trails.
BTW, I've recently heard a couple locals talk about riding at Ft. Robinson in your state. I will have to add that one to my bucket list as I broadan my trail riding.
Someone at a meeting last night laughed at all the news coverage that this cold snap in the Lower 48 has received. They said that it gets way colder here for way longer and it doesn't make the news. I told her that it is normal for us so it wouldn't make the news.
ReplyDeleteWe are prepared for it with proper clothing, studded tires, snowplows and sander trucks. We can deal with everything that Mother Nature throws our way. There are lots of things you can do to deal with this if you are prepared. My number 1 suggestion is to stay home, stay warm, keep the pipes from freezing and dress in layers when you have to go out.
Before I moved to Alaska I lived in Memphis and Louisville. I remember when the forecast of snow would shut the schools down and no one was prepared for temps below freezing.
